Lazy Days

It has been a slow week! We are FINALLY getting our van fixed from my little fender bender (with my sister-don't ask) it was about a year and a half ago! Since we haven't had a car, we have been taking it pretty easy. You would think that staying home I would have a clean house- it is so totally the opposite! What a disaster! I am sending the kids outside after lunch and while Mady naps so something can get clean! I found a cute sign that says "Please excuse the noise and mess... the kids are making happy memories" and also a sign that says "A clean house is a sign of a broken computer" -so true! Oh well!


Isn't summer wonderful? It is filled with playing outside, planting/weeding gardens, water activities and lots of popsicles! (speaking of popsicles, I bought some soda pop popsicles that have Orange, A&W Rootbeer, 7-up, and Dr. Pepper at Wal-Mart- Yummy!!)

The boys love to help me weed the flower beds and love to use their imagination outside. I love to listen to them play!

Madalyn is pulling herself up to the table, and anything else she is close to. She loves to stand in her walker. I am afraid I have another child who will not crawl. Patrick skipped crawling and walked at 10 mths, Reed was 8 mths when he walked, and now Mady wants to walk, she is only 7 mths- these are crazy kids! :)

Well, I am off to write my talk for Sunday. We have been in this ward for a year, and this is our first time speaking. Needless to say I am a little nervous! I just hope our kids will be good while we are switching off speaking and sitting with them! Oh, what fun!!

Life Lessons, boys and girls

Madalyn Mae is almost 7 months old! I cannot believe how fast she has grown. I love dressing her up in pink outfits and frilly dresses!

I feel so blessed to be a mother. I know that this is a divine calling and I just hope that I can raise these beautiful children to be wonderful people who make a difference in this ever changing and challenging world. I am grateful that my boys love to go to church- they love to learn about the Savior and LOVE to tell me about everything they talk about. I have been thinking about how blessed I have been lately. It has been a while since I have "counted my blessings" and I think I need to stop and "smell the roses" more often! I love my little family!!

I was asked to give the lesson in Relief Society this Sunday. I am SOOOO nervous! It didn't bother me to give lessons to the Young Women when I was a counselor, those lessons are on my level- they tell you what to say, what questions to ask and what scriptures to read. I am having a hard time trying to get enough time to concentrate on a lesson- epecially with a baby who is clingy! Then, to top it off, while we were having some play time outside, I sprained my ankle. I can't get around, Pat has to go up and down the stairs with Mady so I can crawl and the dishes keep getting stacked higher and higher! Oh woe is me right? :) Well, if any of you have read or have had lesson 11 out of the Joseph Smith book and have any insights, let me know! And if any of you have creative ideas- feel free to share! I just hope that I can stand on my ankle by then:)
